A width is only one requirement
No. An 80 mm label normally identifies one nominal dimension,not the complete paper specification. A receipt printer can have separate requirements for paper width,outside roll diameter,spool dimensions,paper thickness and media grade. A roll that resembles an old supply still needs the relevant exact specification.
Keep supplier claims in their source scope
Our three UK purchase examples publish different widths,lengths and carton amounts. Supplier claims about major thermal printers are retained as claims rather than an approval that every 80 mm machine accepts every selected roll. This site has not loaded,printed or cut any of them in a device.
Use the exact manual revision
The source reference uses the Epson TM-T20III current technical-guide route,not a manual for every Epson or a similarly named TM-T20. Manual revision and installed paper-width configuration matter. A current revision changed paper-thickness values,so an old copied range cannot automatically decide a new purchase.
Write the missing question before ordering
Record your exact machine and required paper fields before comparing carton prices. Where an exact product grade,tolerance or configuration remains missing,the finder reports an unresolved match. It does not turn a common width into a warranty,physical-fit trial or universal compatibility verdict.
Apply the field to a purchase
For example,an owner who only knows the screen name shown in till software should first find the printer’s exact hardware identity. A point-of-sale application name does not identify the paper mechanism or its installed width configuration.
