Read the manual’s two fields
The Epson TM-T20III technical reference distinguishes the spool’s inside and outside diameters. A paper supplier’s single 12.7 mm core description does not automatically establish both. These are different physical fields even though casual product titles may call each a core size.
Keep a supplier core label limited
The current exact manual must be checked for the relevant configuration and paper conditions. A supplier’s universal 80 mm claim does not override missing spool dimensions or media grade. The source desk can show the published requirements without certifying that any selected carton satisfies every one.
Do not turn a small difference into approval
Do not round a difference away or create an unstated tolerance because two numbers appear close. Nor does an unresolved field prove that the carton definitely fails. It means more evidence is needed before calling the combination approved.
Ask the precise compatibility question
Send the exact machine model,manual revision,selected roll code and requested internal/external spool fields to the supplier. If a sensor condition matters,ask about it explicitly. This site has not measured sensor performance,remaining-paper detection or roll retention in a physical machine.
Apply the field to a purchase
A near-end sensor question can remain unresolved even when the roll fits into the compartment. Physical space,spool construction and sensor performance are separate aspects;no one-field shortcut proves all three.
