Read the explicit field names
POS Central explicitly describes its 80×80×12.7 mm selection as width, diameter and core size. Till Roll Warehouse also tells readers to use width by diameter by core. Keep those names in the purchase note rather than carrying only a three-number shorthand between suppliers.
Do not confuse core with total roll diameter
An 80 mm outside diameter is the size of the wound roll, not its core opening. A 12.7 mm core label still may not state both internal and external spool diameters, which can be separate requirements in a printer manual. Do not assume that every seller’s core number answers both fields.
A nominal label is not a tolerance
A nominal 80 mm width also does not publish an actual measured width or manufacturing tolerance. The Epson reference distinguishes paper width from width when wound. A matching headline number alone therefore does not complete the technical comparison.
Retain the original specification order
When asking a supplier, include the exact product code and name the missing dimension. Request the relevant tolerance or spool field instead of asking whether it is a standard roll. No calliper measurements or physical installation were performed by this site,so those missing details remain source questions.
Apply the field to a purchase
When a supplier says core without inside/outside detail, ask which dimension was measured. Keep its reply with the selected code so a later reorder does not silently replace that field with a different interpretation.
